Goodbye Canon Elph!

My Favorite camera is dead! This little camera was the best. It took great pictures and was so easy to carry around in my purse or pocket. We had it for over 2 years which does not seem like very long but we used it alot! Between eBay pictures and all the pictures I took of just about everything, its mechanical parts that allow the lens to come in and out died. We tried to revive it but the cost was way too much (repair starts at $138.00)! Jason even took it apart and tried to fix it himself but it was way over our heads. When you see inside these little cameras you discover it is worth the couple hundred dollars you spent on it. We are still debating on our next camera purchase. We think we might go for the Canon Rebel XT. Let me know what you think. I will greatly miss my "Canon Power Shot SD 400 Digital ELPH". If anyone is in the market for a great little digital camera check out the "Canon SD 1000 ELPH". This is the updated version of the SD 400. They have it at Wal-mart for $170.00, which is an amazing deal!

Hey- the problem with the rebel is that it is too big to put in your purse- I have a small camera like yours and I use it all the time. I also have a big cannon that I NEVER use! I thought I would- it has more pixels. but unless you are blowing it up bigger than a door frame, you shouldn't notice, if you do, tell who ever develope it to change out their ink. Good luck and have fun shopping for a new camera!

I am a fan of the Sony. Mine takes great pictures and is purse-size. I am kind of obsessed with it. And Sarah Katherine has a really neat one, but I don't know what it is. Maybe a Canon?
